Sr. Software Engineer

Overview

Dovetail Software is hiring a senior software engineer to work on our HR Case Management SaaS app. We’re looking for someone who has a strong background in .Net based web applications with a strong commitment to software quality and automated testing.  You’ll be working on a small team that develops applications for large businesses on top of the latest AWS technologies. You will work directly with the rest of the development and operations teams in building the product to make the best use of the AWS technologies for scalability and reliability.

Our product software development practices and technologies include:

• Test-driven development
• Continuous integration
• Git and Github (for SCM and issue tracking)
• Github projects
• Frequent deployments
• HTML, CSS, Javascript
• Backbone
• Ruby
• Amazon Web Services (EC2, CloudSearch, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, Aurora etc)
• Asp.Net, C# 4, .NET 4
• AWS Aurora (MySQL)

The typical Senior Software Engineer responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Stewarding features from their inception to release in the application
• Writing automated tests for all parts of the application including unit and acceptance tests.
• Working closely with our devops team to make sure solutions make best use of AWS technologies.
• Assist the support team in diagnosing and fixing issues reported by customers
• Peer code reviews with a high level of attention to detail
• Working with product management to design features and improvements to our application with a focus on user experience.

Qualifications

• Strong background in .Net based web development
• Prior experience using an IOC
• Strong TDD background
• Strong software design skills
• Experience with angular, backbone, react etc is preferred
• Familiarity with MySQL is a plus
• CS degree is a plus
• Ability to work remotely.  Living in the Austin area is preferred but not required
