IIS 5 is not officially supported as a deployment platform for Dovetail Mobile Agent.

It is possible to use IIS 5.1 on Windows XP do development testing of Dovetail Mobile Agent.

Developers wishing to test Dovetail Mobile Agent against Windows XP and IIS 5.1 can follow these instuctions:

  1. Create a virtual directory in IIS Manager as per the documentation instructions for IIS6.
  2. Virtual Directory Properties->Virtual Directory Tab-> Configuration.
  3. Add a new mapping extension. The extension should be .*, which will be mapped to the Executable C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_isapi.dll, or the appropriate location on your computer (you can simply copy this from the mapping for .aspx files). On the mapping uncheck "check that file exists".
  4. Click on OK until you have exited the Virtual Directory configuration.
