Getting BOLT running when set up in IIS on a Windows Server 2003 machine (Article # 283)

View products that this article applies to.

Problem:

BOLT shows 404 Error when set up in IIS on a Windows Server 2003 machine.

The virtual directory is configured as instructed in the documentation.

The Bolt.udl file is set to connect to the database, and the Test Connection succeeds.

HTML pages (as opposed to Bolt's ASP pages) from the virtual directory are browsable.

Resolution:

Server configuration was preventing BOLT ASP pages from loading. The biggest  issue was the Server not serving ASP pages due to an ISAPI filter.

In “Application Mappings” in the "Application Configuration" of the virtual directory, the ".asp" extension needs to be mapped to "c:\windows\system32\inetserv\asp.dll" – it was pointing to isapi_filter in the Microsoft .NET Framework directory.
