Toolkits APIs with contact sessions that do not specifying usernames can error. (Article # 170)

View products that this article applies to.

Problem:

The fcSDK Toolkit API is called using a Contact based session and the username property on the API call is not set. The API will attempt to use the "user.id" of the session as the default user the API's action will be logged under. This attempt fails as a Contact based session (contact login) does not have a "user.id" as they are not a user.

For example, calling fcinter.create_interact with the user_name parameter set to an empty string can result in the following error: Input string was not in a correct format

Resolution:

When calling toolkit API methods using a Contact based session. You must currently specify the UserName property of the API you are invoking.
