Exciting New Configuration Manager
Austin, TX - February 11, 2005 - Have you ever been frustrated with trying to keep your site configurations current in Clarify? Simply put, the default workflow for installing/deinstalling/reinstalling site parts is difficult and time consuming. It involves too many forms that are hard to read and understand. It requires you to change Clarify applications between Clear Support and Product Manager. And it's just plain annoying to go through 3-4 screens, for every single site part install. And when you add product bins and part catalogs to the mix, it's enough to make most Clarify users scream.
If you're like most other Clarify customers, you've wanted a better way to do this. You've wanted a simple, intuitive interface that allows you to manage all aspects of your site configuration on a single page, and is quick and easy to use. You've wanted an interface to manage your site configuration that will save you 5, 10, 15 minutes a day (or more) that you currently spend manipulating site parts.
Good news. It's here today.
First Choice Software today made available, for preview screening, a revolutionary new way to manage your site parts for your ClarifyCRM system. This single web page for your fcClient system allows you to perform all of the following easily and quickly:
- Install Site Parts
- Deinstall Site Parts
- Reinstall Site Parts
- Move Site Parts (to or from the current site)
- Add/Delete/Modify Product Bins
- Select Parts from a part catalog
- And more...
This exciting piece of functionality will be included in the next public release of fcClient. For now, we've placed it in our fcClient demo that you can use on this web site.
To access this feature on our web site, please do the following:
- Click on the fcClient link in the demo section of the home page.
- Click on Submit to log in to fcClient.
- Select Site from the Select menu. Press List to view the sites. Double click on any one site you'd like to work with.
- On the site page, front the Site Parts tab.
- Press the Install... link.
This takes you into the configuration manager. The following bullets explain a little about the manager. The best way to understand how easy it is to use the product is just to play with it.
- The treeview at the top of the page displays the current site configuration.
- You can expand or collapse any node in the tree by clicking on the (+) and (-) icons.
- By single clicking on a row in the treeview, you are specifying where you want to install a new site part (or bin, or reinstalled part, or moved part). This can be at the site (top level), under a bin, or under another site part.
- The Install tab allows you to select a part to install (including using part catalogs), and then specify detailed information about the new site_part.
- The Re-install tab displays all site parts previous de-installed, and allows you to reinstall them back at the site.
- The Move tab permits you to move site parts from other sites (or locations at this site) to move under the selected location, or allows you to move the selected site part in the top treeview to another site.
- The Bins tab allows you to create, delete, or modify bins at the site.
- You can also de-install a site part by selecting it in the top treeview, and pressing the De-install button.
- All domain rules are enforced. You cannot perform illegal actions.
