Dovetail Software Releases Dovetail Agent 4.0
Latest release uses 'Seeker' to provide powerful search capabilities

Austin, TX - June 24, 2008 - Dovetail Software, a leading provider of software solutions and services for the Clarify® CRM user community, today announced the release of Dovetail Agent 4.0, the latest version of its web-based agent-facing application. This release includes many enhancements, increasing the power of the Company’s CRM product suite.

Perhaps the most significant enhancement to Dovetail Agent provides the ability to harness the power of Dovetail Seeker within the agent application. Seeker allows users to more easily leverage the knowledge stored within their CRM system to get answers and resolve problems in real-time. It works for basic search in an intuitive Google-like text box, or for more experienced users, it provides advanced search and query capabilities. Agents can now quickly and easily search unstructured text content of cases, subcases, solutions, and other objects, including custom objects, in the database.

Beyond the new search capabilities, the latest release of Dovetail Agent includes the following enhancements, which improve agent productivity and increase the product’s functionality:

  • Announcements - The ability to broadcast an announcement to users within the Dovetail Agent application, so now companies can easily and reliably deliver important real-time information about changes in IT infrastructure status or business critical customer service related issues to the entire user community;
  • Simplified Linking of Solutions to Cases - The Solution form now includes a "Link this solution to a case" button, which simplifies the procedure;
  • Parent-child cases functionality has been added, which allows agents to link cases hierarchically;
  • The case history now includes attachment activities (add attachment, delete attachment) for improved audit capabilities;
  • The user Profile page now has a Contact tab which allows the user to enter personal contact information and notification preferences;
  • The About page and the My Commitments page are now opened in the console, as opposed to a new window providing a smoother, more organized user experience;
  • Added a Sharing link to the case page and to the Solution page, making it easy to share a link to these objects;
  • The console refresh rate is now a user-configurable setting, giving agents more individual control over the behavior of the user interface;
  • The jQuery Javascript library is included, allowing simpler and more powerful customization capabilities.
