Latest Dovetail Release Offers Powerful, New End-User and Administrative Capabilities

Austin, TX - November 9, 2006 - Dovetail Software, a leading provider of software solutions and services for the Clarify® CRM user community, today announced it has released Dovetail CRM 4.0, which adds powerful new end-user and administrative features and enhancements to the company's customer service and support (CS&S) product suite.

"This addition to our product suite significantly enhances the capabilities of our flagship CRM system for end-users, as well as administrators of the Dovetail/Clarify environment," said Stephen Lynn, CEO of Dovetail. "It also stands as further testament to Dovetail's CRM leadership in the customer service and support arena. We are committed to addressing the customer support needs of our customers, by continually improving our customer service and support solutions. Moreover, it's available to customers immediately as a simple and easily installed upgrade."

Key enhancements to Dovetail CRM's end-user capabilities include:

  • User-defined console refresh rates within an admin-defined range;
  • Ability to create, select, update and delete employees;
  • Ability to create, select, update and delete business calendars;
  • Support for parent/child site hierarchies;
  • Simplified user interface styling;
  • Real-time login monitoring; and
  • Password expiration handling.

In keeping with its goal to simplify the requirements of administrators, while increasing their ability to enhance the capabilities of end-users, the web-based administrative toolset has also been significantly expanded, including:

  • Business Rule management;
  • Business Rule property management;
  • User-defined list management;
  • Part Catalog management; and
  • User Interface style enhancements.

Perhaps most important, the entire Dovetail CRM administrative toolset is now privilege class-based, allowing authenticated access on a feature-by-feature basis. Additionally, as previously announced, Dovetail SchemaEditor incorporates the powerful capabilities of SchemaScript, which allows database schema changes using a simple, easy to read XML format.
