We're looking for someone to help lead us into the land of awesome with respect to user experience and user interface design. We have built a very complex piece of software that has been winning the praise of its customers for its adaptability and performance. We take great pride in the quality of our apps. We want our app’s UI and UX quality to match its engineering quality. Please, we need your help.

Responsibilities

• Lead all design and usability of web-based and mobile business applications
• Prototype experimental features
• Analyse feature usage data & user behaviour to improve UX
• Works well as the sole designer working closely with developers 
• Responsible for taking concepts from wireframe, prototypes, to design, to checking implementation

Requirements

• Experience hand-coding clean, semantic HTML, CSS, and, preferably, Javascript.
• Proficient with current web tech such as HTML5 and CSS3.
• A solid understanding of cross-browser, cross-platform web development layout issues and bugs.
• Working knowledge of graphic design, interaction, usability and typography.
• Working knowledge of version control systems, preferably Git
• A solid portfolio: Web business applications a must; mobile experience a plus

Desired skills

• A genuine passion for design and building beautiful, yet clean UI
• The ability to solve design problems, not just design good-looking interfaces
• Experience with modern CSS frameworks, such as SASS and LESS, is a huge plus
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, such as jQuery, is a huge plus
• Interests and/or skills in art, photography and video post production.
• Experience with PHP, Ruby on Rails, or other back-end, web friendly programming languages.
