Key Features

• Seeker Indexer Service. This Windows service polls the database for new or updated entities and updates the index. In addition, it polls directories for file specifications.
• Data Searching. Data in the database is searchable, such as customers, case history, and solutions.
• File Attachment Searching. External documents are searchable, such as documentation, technical bulletins, and whitepapers.
• External Document Searching. External documents are searchable, such as documentation, technical bulletins, and whitepapers.
• Advanced Searching. Power users appreciate the advanced search capabilities, including the use of wildcards, exact phrases, operators (including AND and OR), data ranges, and specific property searches.

Technology

Search queries are submitted to the Seeker web service using a standard HTTP request. Search results are returned as JSON, a standard data format that can be consumed by cross platform applications. Whether your application is written in .NET, Java, ClearBasic, C, or almost any other language – integrating powerful search capabilities into your application becomes easy. By off-loading expensive searches from the relational database (SQL Server or Oracle), overall system performance is improved.
